Blue Mountain in summer: the village, trails and Scenic Caves

View over Georgian Bay from the Blue Mountain escarpment

Blue Mountain is known for skiing, but the village and the escarpment have a full summer. The resort sells attraction tickets, there are village patios and golf, and Scenic Caves sits a few minutes away. This guide sticks to what the resort and Scenic Caves say on their own sites.

Quick answer

Blue Mountain Village has more than 30 dining options, including patios, on-mountain dining and Georgian Bay views.[5] Attractions are sold as tickets: a Full-Access Ticket gives unlimited daily access to summer attractions, a Limited-Access Ticket covers four of eight all-age attractions, and a Single-Use Ticket covers one.[6] The resort’s page lists no prices or season dates, so check its ticket page before you drive.

In the village

  • Attractions: see the ticket types above. The resort page does not name each attraction.[7]
  • Golf: Monterra Golf is an 18-hole course.[8]
  • Camps: the resort runs summer camp programs.[9]
  • Events: the resort groups events as festivals and holidays, concerts and live music, and competitions and races, without dates on the summer page.[10]
  • Hiking and biking: the resort links to a hike and bike section but names no specific trails on its summer page.[11]

The beach

The Georgian Bay beach at the resort is exclusively for overnight guests of Blue Mountain Hotels.[12] If you are not a guest, look at public beaches elsewhere in the Town of The Blue Mountains. Grey Bruce Public Health’s August 10 2026 samples at Little River Park and Northwinds beaches in The Blue Mountains passed and neither was posted.[13]

Scenic Caves Nature Adventures

Scenic Caves is open daily, including holidays, from 9 am to 5 pm, with last entry two hours before closing. Park admission covers the hiking trail centre, the caves and crevasse, a suspension bridge, lookout points, a children’s adventure playground, wooden animal carvings and a picnic and pond area. Mini-golf, gemstone mining, snack bars and the gift shop cost extra.[14] The site describes the suspension bridge as the longest in Southern Ontario.[15] A Thunderbird Twin Zip Line is listed as coming in spring 2027.[16] The site gives no admission prices or dog policy, so check before you go. Winter passes are on sale until November 30.[17]

Planning notes

Check the resort’s pages for dates, because the summer page does not give a season. Look for two things before you pay: the ticket type that matches how many attractions you want, and the resort’s own page for current prices. For a quieter day, Scenic Caves takes last entry two hours before closing, so arrive in the morning to give yourself time on the suspension bridge, the lookout points and the caves. Pair it with a drive into Collingwood for the harbour, the museum and downtown; our Collingwood guide lists what the Town and the downtown BIA offer. If your group includes a dog, ask Scenic Caves directly, because its site states no policy.
